Mitsios Trading, a leading raw material import, storage and distribution company based in Cyprus, has selected On Demand Solutions (ODS) to deliver a new, modern B2B e-commerce site for its customers, which links straight through to its SAP ERP system.
The new, intuitive and fully featured web site, powered by ODS’s market leading B2B e-commerce platform, ODSNet™, will allow Mitsios’s busy B2B clients to search, find, price and order goods at their convenience, 24/7. Customers will also be able to track their orders, look up transaction histories and download invoice records.
Mitsios, a family-run business founded in the 1970s, positions itself as a ‘one-stop solution’ for Cyprus’s food service industry, providing a complete range of products. The company serves a diverse range of customers including many prominent bakeries, restaurants, hotels and hypermarkets across the island.
Traditionally, Mitsios’s sales have come from field sales visits to customer premises, or by phone. Now, with a fully integrated end-to-end e-commerce experience that will mirror modern consumer retail experiences, the company expects to do a much greater percentage of sales online.
“We carry thousands of products, which we’ll now be able to show to customers more easily via a browsable and very user-friendly web experience,” explains Dimitris Panayiotou at Mitsios Trading. “They’ll be able to search and order more of what they need at their own convenience, which could be outside of standard opening hours.”
“The fact that ODSNet integrates directly with our SAP system will empower our customers to find more of what they need at speed, while minimising any delays or potential for mistakes because orders will flow straight through to our back-office systems,” he says. “ODSNet will also put real-time information at our customers’ fingertips – they’ll be able to view invoices, sales orders and purchase histories via a portal.”
In addition to its direct SAP integration, Mitsios chose the ODSNet e-commerce platform because of its rich B2B functionality, and its easy customisation options, which Dimitris says the company could not find elsewhere.
“We looked at other e-commerce solutions too, but we felt that ODS offered us much more and was genuinely interested in us. And really, we liked the examples of other web sites they showed us, which are fast and cleverly designed,” he says. “ODS gave us some great suggestions too, and we felt they were asking a fair price.”
The new B2B e-commerce site is due to go live in the next couple of months. Dimitris says. “Our aim is to provide a great experience for our customers, and we’re confident they’ll like what we’ve done.”
